Microsoft just announced the latest version of their mobile operating system, to compete with google’s android and apple’s iphone OS. The new system is designed with a new UI that is influenced by the zune music player. The OS was specifically designed for interacting w/ social networks as well as organizing contacts and other information. It is set to be released around the holidays and I’m sure will be popular. This just might be the phone to make me give up my Blackberry, we shall see.

Race & Mayergate(?!)

If you’ve ever had a conversation with me and the topic was race, then you’d know that I do get passionate about it. I also tend to get engaged into race discussions often for whatever reason. This year I can think of at least 4 conversations in January alone. Between Barack Obama being in office and late night drinking in southern Illinois, I’m sure this year will be full of race commentary.

Today seemed to be one of those days that “racist” has been thrown around for no reason whatsoever. I wake up to a twitter mentioning me about a tweet that i made last night. This tweet in question was “Drinking a Heineken for Black History Month” w/ the hashtag #Colbert. Probably a half hour later, i get a rt calling my tweet racist and not funny. This didn’t bother me because, obviously some people are touchy on the subject of black history month. It’s ok to be offended but to deem it racist is Stretch Armstrong caliber of “reaching”.

Soon after, I overhear some controversy about a John Mayer quote. I automatically assume that people are taking it out of context and come to find out, I was absolutely right. In his interview w/ Playboy magazine he answered some questions that were asked in regards to black people (which i can assume were asked b/c of black history month). Now, if you’re not a fan of John Mayer then I’m sure you wouldn’t be accustomed to his brand of dry humor hence why I’m sure that people were offended. I’m not going to post the interview b/c it’s really not that important but things were said and now there is this Mayergate (?!) that’s supposedly going on. It’s almost laughable at how some people can get so righteous in the name black people when John Mayer says something but when everyday blacks, rappers, actors, comedians etc can say some of the most vile and disrespectful things but “it’s all good”.

Look, I’m not here to tell you what to think or how to act but please, don’t try and be the voice of black America and tell me that I should be “offended” when there is nothing that he said that would make me believe that he was a racist. In the end, I wish people wouldn’t throw around the word “Racist” around at every single thing is really making the word lose it’s meaning. This politically correct bullshit kills me sometimes I swear.

This is where Swizz Beats got the sample from On To The Next from. I would have never guess that it would be a Justice song. One of my favorite Justice songs at that. If you’re not a fan of Justice’s brand of music (I can’t see why you wouldn’t be) then fast forward to the 2:00 mark for the “good stuff”.

I need a new tattoo. On my 17th birthday my aunt took me to this place to get my first one. Looking back on it, I should have gone elsewhere. The tattoo came out great but this place screamed shady. At the time though I was so excited because I was getting “tatted up”.

Since getting my second one though (year later), I kept telling myself that I will get another one. That was back in 02 and it still hasn’t happened. This procrastination sometimes gets the best of me. I’m going to make sure I will have one by the end of this year.
